All of Lance Dutson’s other “evidence” offers just about as much proof of his mendacious claims, and it makes me wonder – exactly what segment of the population is so willing and able to believe nothing but the worst about people?

It’s pretty obvious that at the time, Nancy Marshall assumed Lance Dutson was merely insane, and the best way to deal with the situation would be the kind and the human way. But Janet Dutson completely ignored this letter, and several others very similar to it. Is it just me, or is her reaction to such a polite and compelling plea a very strange one? The woman is a relatively high profile Camden National Bank manager (Main branch). I honestly don’t understand it.

I’m running late, so here’s a quick note to point out some more inaccuracies on Lance Dutson’s blog – just in case he has any readers left. He can’t seem to go more than a week without attacking someone. (Umm…this is where it got deleted. I forget exactly what I said, but it was something to do with with Dutson’s lying and Dann Lewis’s supposedly deleted emails.) Dutson already knew that the only emails that were deleted were individual emails, and short strings that were already included in other, longer strings.And I’m currently researching emails that he received that would have disproved his own ridiculous accusations.I have spring fever today, so I’m feeling brave and brazen. I think I’ll release a few top secret cats from their bags.Well, I heard – mind you, this is just a rumor – but I heard that, after the huge avalanche of FOIA requests that was precipitated by Dutson and his other Troll Wannabes, the word went out in Augusta that (at least for a few weeks) there would be NO MORE EMAILING.Phones calls only.This was the only conceivable solution to the crippling effect of all these requests on the I.T. department, and their over-worked staff. In fact, they are still trying to put a price tag on just how much Lance Dutson has cost us taxpayers.Not only was this money down the tubes, but it was doubly ill spent, since Dutson used it to virtually annihilate Maine’s largest industry.That’s the story going around town.So I heard. If Lance got no more emails, it’s most likely because there just weren’t any.
Lance Dutson of Maine Web Report has just made a post implying an unholy alliance between himself and an obviously high level Maine Government official.Dutson crows that weeks before even Dann Lewis knew that he was to be replaced with political hack Pat Eltman , Dutson himself knew, since he had been informed of this by his very own private government insider. This insider must have ranked quite high in state government in order to be privy to such information.[This post got abbreviated as well - right here. So - if my memory serves me right, I only said something to the effect that:]
If I were a clandestine government mole I would not be happy to hear my informee bragging about his association with me. Furthermore, if I were ever caught colluding with such a lying and patently silly troll, I would certainly kiss goodbye any future political hopes. But I’m not from around here…

I think we might finally be seeing the implosion of a troll.
Libby Blogger Lance Dutson of Maine Web Report just made my job that much easier by posting his own example of his “journalistic” tactics. I don’t even have to search the archives for them.
First Dutson mentioned a 30 minute segment of MPBN’s “MaineWatch” that he claims had (quite briefly) mentioned online ethics. And then he started ranting about 2 comments that Lou Morin left on his blog.

For some background: Maine Public Radio, which historically hesitates to stray from the yellow line in the road, had issues with some rather awkward on-air comments made by the Humble Farmer. (Hosts a music show…considers himself a comic).
Humble went overboard on this particular un-funny political commentary, comparing Bush to Hitler, and after having been reprimanded, was finally fired.
Dutson, whose cache of troll nuts must be running low lately, decided to replenish his stock by taking up Humble’s cause and starting yet another rant – this time about Humble’s First Amendment rights. Apparently, according to Dutson, Humble should be allowed to mention the Führer any time he wants, even on a family music show that airs the same time as “Lawrence Welk”.
Dutson called Lou Morin of MPBN to get an “interview”about this situation. But what he neglected to tell Morin was that Dutson had already gone into cahoots with Humble, dangling the carrot of Podcasts in front of the silenced Farmer’s face.
Dutson also didn’t tell Morin that Dutson was a predatory lunatic.
As soon as Morin’s defenses were down, Dutson began a rant of belligerent in-your-face accusations to an astonished Lou.

Lou was of course blindsided by this. He lost his temper at Dutson and told him off in 2 comments on Dutson’s blog. (You go, Lou…)
Now, Dutson’s latest crusade is to “Out” MPBN for their double standard, citing the above 30 minute show as an example of MPBN’s lip service to “Online Ethics”, and contrasting that with Lou’s colorful and astute comments.
(Oddly enough, Dann Lewis and Lou alike were probably both hoping that the 30 minute segment would “Out” people like Dutson…)
But Dutson is doing it again. His quotes are contradicting himself. He rants so rabidly in setting up these quotes, that his mindless groupies (what few are left) will probably see only what Dutson wants them to see.
In addition to the comment (link) made below Lou posted this on Dutson’s blog:
“Given my unfortunate experience with your twisted concept of the word “truth,” I fully expect someone will soon tell me (as I won’t be back to read it myself) that they read in this very space that I personally euthanize cute, defenseless puppies, kittens and hamsters in my office on the taxpayer’s dime.
Such an assertion would be no more or less truthful that anything else in your piece.Now go ahead, thump your chest with your fists a few more times and have the last word. I’ve heard that doing so helps lying cowards to sleep better
at night. “
Good for Morin. It didn’t take him long to see through Dutson. But Dutson calls Lou’s refreshing insight just a “String of defamatory and shameful comments” and accuses MPBN of engaging in “wildly unethical behaviour… in order to garner support for their attempts to stifle the exact type of voice that the high-minded ethical standards of public broadcasting are supposed to protect.”
(I always picture West Virginian Lance Dutson mouthing this rhetoric in a sweaty southern drawl, pacing, thumbs in the waistcoat pockets of his wrinkled white seersucker suit.)
(If my Yankee dad’s hero, “Larry Welk” had ever made any kind of comment with any reference at all to Adolph Hitler in it, my dad would have put his foot right through the television screen.)
And of course, Dutson is still at it…contradicting himself online. (Did he just miss these statements:?)
“He’s [Dutson] also the guy who came right out and said to me that the real source of his anger with MPBN is the fact that he often provides our news department “news tips” that our reporters (understandably) don’t follow up on, coming as they do from an idiot whom I am guessing forgets to take his meds on a regular basis.”
So Dutson has repeatedly tried to get MPBN involved in one of his own paranoid rants, but MPBN politely declines. This makes Dutson angry, and Dutson is of course at his most inspired while attacking people he hates.
He even accuses Morin of “grade school bullying”. (Which means that Dutson is reading my other blogs. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.)
Dutson even attempted to make a mountain of an anthill by depicting MPBN as being “embroiled” in this un-scandal, which is just another figment of Dutson’s wildly over-active imagination.
About the only thing that I can smell broiling are Dutson’s troll nuts.

A few days ago, I told a commenter named Jon that by attributing any positive qualities to Lance Dutson of Maine Web Report, Jon had relinquished his claim to humanity.
That was mean, and I apologize . The average reader who drops in on MWR for his daily shot of vitriol, obviously doesn’t project his attention through the blogosphere and into the biosphere… the land of living, breathing creatures. They just don’t know any better.
But Lance Dutson has destroyed so many innocent people, that I can’t summon up any compassion for him. For starters, he brought down 2 friends of mine. Since they were helping me with my problem, he brought me down as well.
What did I ever do to him?
He did serious damage to several innocent government workers who were only trying to protect their reputations and/or businesses – enterprises which, unlike anything Dutson could even contemplate, were spawned by years of honest, hard work.
But he also hurt their employees. He hurt their kids and spouses. He hurt their friends, and their dogs and cats.
What did they ever do to him?
He must know that he’s lying.
If he doesn’t know, then he’s even farther over the edge than I previously assumed.
What did Dann to to Dutson? Dutson claims that Dann sued him, but even after learning the inaccuracy of this claim, Dutson kept stalking Dann.
I think the real reason Dutson despises Dann so much is that Dann exposed the truth about Dutson. Dutson’s very first attack was against the MOT’s “Incorrect” and “Illegal” use of Google Adwords.
It was not very difficult to completely disprove this claim, since Dutson was so completely wrong.

Is Lance Dutson’s wife, Janet Dutson a Class E Felon?

Investigation into Camden National Bank manager Janet Dutson called for. Janet may be willing accessory to serious internet scam.
It has recently been alleged that Janet Dutson, manager of the Camden National Bank’s main branch in Camden, Maine (an FDIC Institution) and wife of predatory* Maine blogger Lance Dutson of Maine Web Report, knew exactly what her husband was doing when he hijacked the website of the Camden/Lincolnville/Rockport Chamber of Commerce in order to make false accusations.
In fact, she may have been the only person aware of it, since, as “Media Liaison”, it was her express duty to monitor it, and the article stayed there for 5 months before anyone even saw it.
Other members of the Chamber have denied any knowledge of this article.
(*“Predatory Journalism” describes a recent trend in which unscrupulous writers attack innocent public figures with false accusations, in order to make a name for themselves. Since laws regarding internet slander have not kept up with the technology, many of these writers have actually succeeded, and made a good deal of money from it. )

In October of 2005, Janet Dutson was made acting director of the above Chamber. Interestingly, shortly thereafter, her husband, Lance Dutson, operator of Maine Coast Design, was called upon to work on the Chamber’s website.
Dutson took it upon himself to initiate a section of the website in which local businesses could send in press releases to promote themselves. It is as yet unclear as to whether any local companies actually made legitimate use of this feature.
However, an article, written by Janet Dutson’s husband Lance, did show up there.
It was an inflamatory challenge to all the local businesses, claiming that the Maine Office of Toursim’s marketing experts were driving up advertising costs to the locals by the MOT’s mis-use of Google Adwords.
Lance Dutson promotes himself as an expert on Search Engine Optimization. Any such expert is of course aware of the complete inaccuracy of those claims.
But Dutson might assume that local folk would liken a “Google Adword” bid to the Saturday Night auction at the Grange. He told them that the MOT was driving up their bidding costs, and they believed him.

This article on the Chamber’ site was a phony press release written by Lance Dutson, posing as a reporter interviewing himself. He falsely accused the Maine Office of Tourism of misusing tax dollars; on his blog, the inflammatory headline read:
Maine Office of Tourism Driving Prices for Adwords through the Roof.
It would appear that, in addition to the many other honestly false accusations (which I will briefly outline below) Dutson’s very first charge was a phony one. In many states, making such false accusations is considered a class E felony.
This looks like the first step in Lance and Janet’s clever plot to catapult Lance Dutson into the spotlight, using his knowledge of the World Wide Web.
Perhaps they are not content surviving on the salary of a Bank manager.
Since then Lance Dutson has been using the web to make even more, and even more serious false allegations. Crimes that are perpetrated online are considered federal offenses.
It would be very odd if a woman did not know of her husband’s alleged federal crimes – especially since he works out of her home. Janet Dutson fully supports him in this illegal activity.

Lance Dutson is reportedly not gainfully employed. So, unless he makes a tidy sum off of those plaintive PayPal pleas for his legal expenses, Janet fully supports him. )
This is exactly the kind of language and the sort of “journalistic” tactics that predatory blogger Lance Dutson has been using since he started out in Maine over 18 months ago. The investigation is called for by me, and the felony charges are alleged by me.
Except, unlike Dutson, who has provably been telling lies, I’m giving you the chance to hear nothing but truth.

Here are just some of the many lies and baseless accusations actively promoted by Lance Dutson:
- Dutson accused the MOT of accepting bribes in the form of “thousands of dollars” worth of free Redsox tickets, including box seats
Yet he even admitted himself to knowing that this was a false accusations -though he later deleted that admission. He knew they were only standard bench seats that routinely come with every full page ad, and nobody at the MOT got any for free, or even for cheap, nor had they ever. And he quoted scalper prices, inflating their value by thousands of dollars. Yet the brazenly lying headlines stayed, and for months after, were repeated ad nauseum.
- Dutson accused Lewis of “Misappropriation of Funds” for “illegally” marketing within his own state.
Yet again, he eventually admitted that he had made a mistake, and the law which he had previously cited did not even exist. But once again, the accusations stayed up in bold print on his blog. Most large states of course do market within their borders.
- Dutson got ahold of an email in which Lewis thanked an industry colleague for an upgrade to business class for a very tall colleague, after the plane had left the ground. So Dutson accused Dann of accepting bribes in the form of “free airline tickets.”
It was later pointed out very succinctly that all anyone had ever accepted was a free upgrade to Business Class based upon availability – a professional courtesy extended by Virgin Air. Upgrades such as these are even available to the general public who are frequent fliers- all they have to do is ask. But Dutson still kept ranting about these corrupt (and non-existent) “bribes”, always in inflammatory terms ……felonies, bribery, corruption, corruption and more corruption.
When I disproved some accusations in comments on his blog, as always, he simply deleted my comments.
- Dutson accused the Lewis’ of accepting bribes and more corruption in the form of “Free Fancy Digs” in New York City when they went there on business or pleasure.
But as everyone including Dutson has already been told too many times to count, these accomodations were far from fancy; in fact they were far less fancy than the hotel rooms which would have been a legitimate write-off for them.
It was nothing but a tiny studio apartment belonging to a very old friend who had been a subcontractor for the PR agency since long before the Lewis’ even moved to Maine. They only stayed there because they need to travel with their adopted “special needs” pets. When this old friend was in Maine, she stayed with the Lewis’.
And every time they stayed there, they saved the State of Maine $200-300 a night in hotel fees.
After Dutson’s complaints, they were forbidden to stay there by Augusta, and we the taxpayers once again had to pick up the MOT’s N.Y. hotel tab.
Dutson knows this perfectly well. Yet still, he loudly and rabidly kept hawking the lies.
- Dutson accused Mrs. Lewis (A private citizen) of “Conflict of Interest” for working on an RFP and sitting on a bidding team.
Yet he’s perfectly well aware that Mrs. Lewis was not even on the payroll, and was asked by Augusta to work pro bono. (free….”volunteer”…) She could sit on the state house roof and not have committed any improprieties. He must also of course be aware of her honorable intentions, since he had read the entire white paper which he refused to publish, and the fact that she was given explicit permission by Augusta to sit in on that team – just as a local liason.
Again….he still rants about it.
- Dutson accused Leiws of firing the Maine ad agency and hiring WKP from New York. He accuses him of nepotism for hiring his buddies and points out that Mrs. Lewis is also from New York.
Dann had nothing to do with either the firing or hiring and did not know a soul at WKP until they were hired. He even recused himself from the bidding process. They were hired because they submitted the lowest bid. Yes, his wife is from New York. New York is a big state.
- Dutson did considerable damage to an innocent Democrat who had been incorrectly charged with a misdemeanor at a young age. The erroneous charge against this young man was later thrown out of court and wiped off his record.
Yet Dutson still repeatedly knowingly uses this lie and refers to this innocent victim as a “Known Convicted Felon“. (It was only a misdemeanor, and all a mistake besides) He even posted the innocent man’s picture, setting it all up to look like a “Wanted” poster.
- One of the world’s leading travel research firms claimed that Maine was the only N.E. state to see a boost in tourism since 9/11…so Dutson, as usual, seriously inflated their fees and called them incompetent.
He is wrong. But in this case, the only evidence he offers is his own say-so.
Apparently this is enough for a Dutson groupie.

Lance Dutson is perfectly aware that he is lying. These intentionally false accusations have cost Maine taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars, and will undoubtedly affect income from tourism for years to come.
It is small wonder that this offense is considered a serious felony in so many states.
Police in Augusta and Brunswick have been told to be on the lookout for Dutson, and his picture was given to the guards at the state house. The Lewis’ had to endure more than a year of being terrorized by things like this:

It sounds incredible, but basically, he has expended close to a million words on just these few topics. Any other charges he has manufactured are just the same –Lies.
But he repeats them…. over, and over, in bold red print.
The follow-ups are always buried too deep for anyone to find, and/or couched in the type of deliberately misleading language I myself used above.
The phony allegations were repeated so many times that even Maine mainstream press started printing all of these lies, without even considering checking up on them. So much for journalistic integrity.
Pretty soon even other states were following suit.
Even Maine PBN picked them up…citing “allegations of corruption”, when the one and the only entity making any allegations at all was of course… Lance Dutson.
And nobody else.
Ever.
I am now taking a leaf from Dutson’s book. The only difference between Dutson and me is that Lance Dutson had been lying profusely and shamlessly for 18 months. I have never once strayed from the truth.
And I am not a predator.
Dutson has even admitted that some charges are absolutely false. But he deletes these admissions. And he makes them again. And because of this, he has destroyed the lives of several people.
In many states this is a Class E Felony. And it is a travesty and unspeakable crime against humanity.

Bank manager Janet Dutson still appears to regard her husband’s questionable activity with a very indulgent eye.
The vicious lies and immoral acts of Lance Dutson are those of a very cold and calculated common criminal.*
And it cannot be possible that the man’s wife did not know this. If she did not, then she certainly cannot be considered competent to manage a bank.

*Recent developements have indicated that the Lewis’ may have had more than one enemy in Maine – some whose vendetta might have been vicious enough to stage the entire affair.
It appears that Dutson has been given his reward…he is now the webmaster for U.S. Senator Susan Collins.
